GLOBALG.A.P. + SPRING add-on · Rainforest Alliance

7,500+ mm a year. And what that forces you to do in the field.

Rain is not sold as a virtue: it is managed.

We neither irrigate from nor abstract water from the catchment —that is exactly what the SPRING add-on audits— and the trade-off, fungal pressure, is handled with selected rootstocks, IPM, drainage and pruning. Here is the cross section of the ground, layer by layer.

01 — The ground, in section

Five layers between the rain and the root.

Heavy rainfall has a price, and it is paid in the field. Hover each layer to separate it: top to bottom, this is what sits between the 7,500 mm and the rootstock.

  • 017,500+ mm of rain a year. Never sold on its own: it comes with the plant health response.
  • 02Canopy and pruning. Strategic pruning: light gets in and humidity inside the tree drops.
  • 03Soil and IPM. Fertilisation based on soil and leaf analysis; integrated pest management.
  • 04Drainage and water. Localised drip irrigation. We do not abstract water from the catchment.
  • 05Root and rootstock. Selected for resistance to Phytophthora cinnamomi.

02 — Water

Water is not counted
in the brochure: it is audited.

The GLOBALG.A.P. SPRING add-on is the module that specifically reviews responsible water use. It is included in our certificate, and the GGN is public: you do not have to take our word for it.

  • 01We do not abstract water from the catchment. With more than 7,500 mm a year, the water the crop needs falls from the sky.
  • 02Localised drip irrigation. Applied where and when it is needed, not by calendar.
  • 03Audited under the SPRING add-on. Within the scope of GGN 4050373777906, which covers 100 % of what we ship.

03 — Certification

We are the ones being audited, not a supplier of ours.

GLOBALG.A.P. with the SPRING add-on under GGN 4050373777906, covering 100 % of what we ship, and Rainforest Alliance, verifiable on its own register —not through the GGN. Ask your current supplier what percentage of their volume comes from land covered by their own certificate.

04 — Community

Sustainability is also signed on the payroll.

186 people directly employed and 9 apprentices. The wellbeing of local communities is one of the three pillars Rainforest Alliance verifies, and in a municipality like Urrao that is measured in contracts, not in photographs.

Growing and exporting avocados must not work against caring for the land. It is the root of the business, not the decoration on the catalogue.

Ask your current supplier what percentage of their volume comes from land covered by their own certificate.

We answer with a number: 100 %. And with a public GGN so you can check it.
